Mission Statement: The mission of the Art in Everyday Life team (AELT) is to provide opportunities for members of the Lawrence community from all walks of life to participate in the arts. The AELT will do this by coordinating shows and exhibits for local artists to display or perform their work and by providing educational programs that engage the community in creating and discussing art. The AEL group will also work to enrich our understanding of subjects such as environmental conservation and social justice through artistic expression.
Vision Statement: The AELT will enhance the ECM and Lawrence communities by providing a venue for artists who are not working on a professional level to show their work and receive feedback from the public. We will also provide art education opportunities to community members who would like to create art but cannot afford to enroll in a class, making all of our events free and open to the public. We will seek to create partnerships with other groups in the community in order to create a broad awareness about art opportunities in Lawrence and work to reach diverse populations through various civic groups and social service agencies.
